Dr Baumeister is a graduate of University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his Internship and his Residency in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Veterans Administration Hospital in Coral Gables, Florida. He served at a Lt. Col. U.S. Army, 2nd General Hospital, Landstuhl, Germany in 1966 to 1970. Dr Baumeister moved to Portland to enter private practice in 1971. He is a clinical professor for Oregon Health Sciences University. He has served as President for Oregon Medical Association and is a current leader in Health Care for State and National levels.

Dr. Bennetts is a graduate of Stanford University Medical School.  He received his internal medicine training in Portland and London.  He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas and was an assistant professor at MD Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute before starting private practice in 1980.  He is active both in research and teaching: all of his patients are seen with third year surgery residents from OHSU.

Dr Galen is a graduate of Oregon Health and Sciences University. He completed his internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and his Internal Medicine Residency at Oregon Health and Sciences University before a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Medical College of Virginia. He remained on the faculty at the Medical College of Virginia where his research focused on hepatitis, before returning to Portland where he joined the clinical faculty of Oregon Health and Sciences University. He joined Northwest Gastroenterology Clinic in 1989. His interests include Diseases of the Liver, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Colon Cancer.

Dr. Sandra Wilborn was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. She received a B.A in History and Art History from Stanford University.  Once her children were in school, she resumed formal education and earned her MD degree at the University of Nevada in Reno, where she also did her residency in Internal Medicine.  She spent two years as a junior faculty member at The UNR School of Medicine teaching Geriatrics, and was also on the Medical staff of the VA hospital in Reno.  A gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Colorado in Denver followed.  Dr Wilborn moved to Portland to enter private practice in 1989, first with the Metropolitan Clinic, and then Health First. She joined Northwest Gastroenterology Clinic in 1999. She enjoys cooking, gardening, quilting, and traveling to Europe and to Latin America with her husband.  They also spend 2 or 3 weeks each year at the family cabin in Western Montana hiking, canoeing and exploring old logging roads by bicycle.

Dr. Poorman is a native Oregonian who graduated from Oregon State University in 1984.  He received his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1988 where he graduated with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Missouri State Medical Association Honor Graduate Award).  Dr. Poorman completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1992 where he also served as Chief Resident and then completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at OHSU in 1995.  He has been in practice with Northwest Gastroenterology Clinic since the completion of his training.  His professional interests include inflammatory bowel disease, hepatobiliary disorders and biliary and therapeutic endoscopy.  He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. DeGregorio was born a Connecticut Yankee and raised in Northern New Jersey.  He graduated from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina with a degree in Chemistry.   After careers in business and university administration, he returned to medical school and graduated from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1990.   He migrated west to the Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU), Portland, Oregon where he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine in 1993.  He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at OHSU in 1996.  Dr DeGregorio made his home in Portland and entered private practice in 1996, first with Northwest Permanente from 1996-1999, and then Clackamas Gastroenterology Associates in 2000. He joined Northwest Gastroenterology Clinic in 2000.  He has special interest in esophageal disorders, inflammatory bowel disease and therapeutic endoscopy.

Dr. Kim is a graduate of University of Wisconsin Medical School. She did her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr Kim did her fellowship in Gastroenterology at University of Colorado Health Sciences University and Baylor College of Medicine Houston, Texas. Dr. Kim started her gastroenterology practice at The Corvallis Clinic in Corvallis, Oregon. She moved to Portland in 1999 and worked at Northwest Permanente until she joined Northwest Gastroenterology Clinic in 2001.  Outside interest include hiking, sailing and cooking with her family.

Dr. Buehler graduated from Dartmouth College and earned his Medical Degree at Cornell University Medical College.  His Internal Medicine training was at Oregon Health and Science University. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship training at the University of California San Diego 2006.

Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Dr. Buehler’s clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, hepatobiliary disease.

Dr. Buehler is married with two children.  Away from medicine, interests include biking, skiing, cooking and gardening.

Dr. Derek Taylor received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Utah in Spanish.  He received his medical degree from The University of Utah School of Medicine.  He then completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland.  He and his wife Renae, moved to Portland, Oregon to complete his medical training at Oregon Health Sciences University in Gastroenterology.  His interests include therapeutic endoscopy, gastrointestinal motility disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Taylor enjoys the beautiful outdoors.  He and his wife will fill their free time mountain biking, skiing, and exploring the northwest.

Dr. Breitinger graduate from Northwestern University in Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in music. She received her medical degree from The University of Nebraska Medical Center. She than completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Legacy Health Systems. She completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology at Aurora Sinai Medical Center University of Wisconsin. After her fellowship, Dr. Breitinger joined Northwest Gastroenterology Clinic in 2008.
